Last Friday I went to the zoo (with the boys and Aunt Lori) and decided to go back on Saturday (without the boys). I had fun shooting the animals, (that doesn't sound right) er, taking pictures of the animals. Especially the orangutans.
Hi Angela! I randomly came to your blog, I am going away pleased with your pictures. You say you just took up photography, but I can say that you have a natural eye for capturing interesting photos. My favorite 2 pics in this group are the Meerkats from behind and the orangutang that looks like he is posing for his head shot for a Broadway show. I like meerkats because usually you get frontal shots of them looking at you, but here, their attention is somewhere else and you have a behind the scenes vantage. The orangutang has expressive eyes and a Mona Lisa-esque gaze that gives the hint that there is something going on in it's mind. Keep up the good work and realize that you might get one good photo for every thousand you shoot. If these are any indication of what you will be doing, I'd say you will be beating those odds!
I would have to concur with arrteest Angela. I was thinking the same thing about the orangutang. The tulip shots have wonderful composition and contrast between the green and purplish red. The curves are wonderful in those shots. You definitely have a eye that will only get better as you take more photos.
BTW, I think it would be great if all of us could get together sometime. I remember your husband was really nice when I met him at the reunion. We live in Gilbert still and things are at least popping up around us. It would be great to have the boys play together. I also have to mention the one with eagle is great as well, because it seems so natural and it looks like he watching out for danger. Keep up the good work and post more. I'll have to post some of my shots and see what you think. Although they're mainly of family because I don't get out much to shoot anymore.
First and foremost, I am new to photography. I'm a stay at home mom with a newfound hobby. I've always taken pictures, but I am finally beginning to learn how to actually use my camera. When I have the time, I shoot a Nikon D50 and use three different lenses. I wanted to create a place where I could post my work and obtain feedback. I am definitely open to comments and suggestions. I know that this will help me to learn and further my knowledge. I'm loving taking pictures and eager to learn more. Thanks for visiting!
